I did my internship in a research group that was collaborating on a project in order to find drug candidates for the main protease of SARS-CoV-2. The experience was great and I learned a lot, as well as the working environment was so pleasant and friendly. I think that this experience could open the door for future development.
On the negative side, I has totally unpaid although I worked just as much as other people that had different/higher positions in the group. I feel that I don’t deserve, as anyone likes working for free. Thus, if you want to do your internship there you have to take this into account.
My experience was great at the beginning but then it was interrupted due to the Covid global pandemic. It was a shame that this occurred, because I was learning a lot about structural alignments and I had a project ordered that I couldn’t perform.
I am so grateful with the team. They helped a lot and the supervisor and the other partners were so nice with me. I could improve all my knowledgments and I had the chance to work with cancer genetics. I always wished to help people and the research is the perfect way to do it.
At first, I was nervous about opening the door of professionalism. However, my worries disappeared faster than I predicted. Usually, I have done individual coding alone, so the opportunity to collaborate helped me to learn about the importance of team development and sharing knowledge with others. During the internship, I gained my first experience using GitHub and I received a lot of practical and applied advice. Learning from the wisdom of other engineers, not just using your knowledge, was an important experience for me.
The working conditions were horrible. I signed a 40h/week internship agreement but when I started it was totally ignored and I worked much more all days without extra salary. Moreover, the salary was too slow for affording a life in such expensive city. In my opinion, I think that I was so abusive and nobody deserves this situation.

I loved my Internship experience, and they offered me a place. They appreciated my job. I feel that this company matches with me, I like my job and the working environment is so comfortable and well paid. We are working on drug discovery and I am now in the I+D department!
I choose a very important company and it helped me to improve a lot my CV (for the company reference) but I felt too small and alone there. I just did my job and when my Internship finished I looked for another company smaller, as I can bring out the best of me there.
At the beginning I was excited to be there because I always loved genetics and the information about the company was attractive. My opinion of this experience was 9 out of 10! My place was okay and well paid, but the negative point is that in the long run you feel that your job is always the same routine.
I would recommend Green4U to anyone. They were so incredibly helpful throughout the whole process of applying, interning, and reflecting post-internship. I have absolutely no regrets with interning through this company, which gave me the life-changing opportunity to live and intern in Germany. With this experience, I was able to learn and grow an immense amount and build relationships with some of the most welcoming people in the world! At my internship placement, I was able to develop my English/Deutch language skills while learning how to code some algorithms for applying them in the company related to new environmental approaches.
The hardest part is sitting at a computer all day coding. The most enjoyable part is that you can make your own schedule to fit your needs. Management is willing to work with you.
