MY TOP 5 BEACHES:

Cala es Matzoc

It is a white sand beach located 10 km from Artà, in the east of the island. You cannot arrive there with public transport, only by car and hiking or by boat. The first option takes around an hour. The way is divided in two parts: road and mountains. If you have a 4x4 car, you can take it until the start of the excursion. If not, it is not recommended to take it because the road is not well asphalted. I do not know how many time takes the second option, I have never gone by boat.

It is recommended to spend a day there. Even, camp there. It is a place where you can try to be in the sand, in the rocks or in the pinewood close to the beach if you want to be in the shade. Finally, if you want to walk more, you can go to la Torre d'Aubarca that is around 20 minutes by foot. It gives you a very beautiful view of the bay of Alcúdia and it is a good place to see the sunshine. It is better to enjoy there the sunrise but... I do not like to get up early hahaha.

Es Trenc

It is an unspoiled beach located between ses Covetes and sa Colònia de Sant Jordi, in the south of the island. It is a very touristic beach where you can arrive by public transport. If you go by car, I recommend you to park in ses Covetes and walk to find the best place to spend the day. You can also arrive walking from the Colònia de Sant Jordi or by boat.

I use to go there to spend a day but it is true that it is not a shady place. So, it is necessary bring sunshade. If you prefer not to go all day, I recommend you to go the first hours in the morning or the last hours in the evening. If you go in the evening and you want a bit of party, you can finish your day in s'Embat.

Es Canyeret

It is a beach of stones and rocks located in Llucalcari, near Deià. You can arrive there by public transport, it leaves you at the beginning of the town. If you go by car, you will have many problems to find parking. From the beginning of the town, you have to down until finding the way to arrive to the beach. It takes around 15 or 30 minutes.

It is a beach known for mudtherapy and camping. However, it is a bit risky to camp there because it very controlled by the coast guard. I also recommend to spend a day there. There is a pinewood for a rest in the shade and where you can hang your hammock if you have one. In the way to Llucalcari, you should stop in Valldemossa to have breakfast a coca de patata and a laccao. It is also a very good place to enjoy the sunshine. However, to come back to the town in dark could be a bit dangerous. Therefore, I recommend to enjoy the sunshine in Sa Foradada, a place between Llucalcari and Deià. Finally, you can have dinner or grab some beer in sa Fonda in Deià where there is in vivo music.

Es Pontàs

It is a natural arch located on the coastline between Cala Santanyí and Cala Llombards, located in the southeastern part of the island. You can arrive there by public transport or by car. Then, you have to walk around 10 minutes to arrive to the beach.

There is a viewpoint at the beginning of the way to the beach to take pictures before before going to the beach. It is also known for climbers, specially for ones that do psicobloc. It is a form of solo rock climbing that relies solely upon the presence of water at the base of a climb to protect against injury from falls from the generally high-difficulty routes. The arch is a 9a route that it has only been ascended by the climber Chris Sharma. There is also a rope under the arch to jump to the sea as a pendulum. You can spend there a day or only some hours, depending of the time that you have!

El Delta

It is a rocky area near Maioris, located in Llucmajor where there are more rugged rocks. It is in the bay of Palma, in the of the island. It is the closest beach to Palma respect to the ones that I mentioned. You can arrive by public transport to Maioris and then walk to the beach. However, I recommend to go by car because there is a very big slope to arrive to the beach parking. Then, you have around 10 minutes to down to the beach.

I really like this beach because is beautiful, chill and close to Palma. I recommend you to spend a evening there and enjoy the sunshine where it is very nice. Its location is also good because it is close to the airport, so, if you have time, you can stay some hours there before leaving the island. It is also a nice place to explore seabed. So, do not forget your glasses! Take this advice into account for the most rock beaches in the island!
